Refund Policy

We want you to be confident before you commit. The free tier lets you build and test against every endpoint at no cost. If something is genuinely broken after you upgrade — not just a change of mind — we'll make it right.

1. Try before you buy

Every endpoint StarsAPI offers is available on the free tier, including AI astrologer chat, voice, and report generation (with limits). We strongly encourage thorough testing on the free tier before upgrading to a paid plan. Most "I changed my mind" refund requests we get are from accounts that upgraded without trying first.

2. Money-back guarantee on first paid month

If you upgrade from the free tier to your first monthly paid subscription and you are dissatisfied for any reason, request a refund within 7 days of the upgrade date and we will refund the subscription charge in full. This guarantee applies once per customer, on the first paid month only.

3. Annual subscriptions

Annual plans are billed upfront at a discount. Annual subscriptions are non-refundable after 14 days from the start of the term. Within the first 14 days, you may request a pro-rated refund covering the unused portion of the term, minus the equivalent monthly rate for any usage already incurred.

If you cancel an annual plan after the 14-day window, your access continues until the end of the paid term. You will not be billed again unless you explicitly renew.

4. Renewals

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or annual). We send a reminder email 7 days before each renewal. If you forget to cancel and were billed for a renewal you did not intend:

  • Monthly renewals — request a refund within 5 days of the renewal charge and we will refund it in full, provided you have used less than 10% of the renewal-period quota.
  • Annual renewals — same 14-day pro-rated rule as in section 3.

5. Wallet credit purchases

Wallet credits used for AI astrologer turns and PDF report generation are non-refundable once used. Unused credits remaining at cancellation are non-refundable but remain available on your account until they expire per the plan's terms.

If wallet credits were charged in error — for example, if a calculation bug on our side caused a failed turn to be debited — contact us and we will reverse the debit.

6. When refunds are not issued

We do not refund:

  • Wallet credits already consumed by AI astrologer interactions or PDF report generation;
  • Subscription periods that have substantially been used (more than 10% of the period's quota consumed);
  • Accounts terminated for violation of our Terms of Service, including fraud, abuse, or unauthorised reselling;
  • Charges older than the time windows specified above;
  • Annual plans cancelled outside the first 14 days;
  • "Change of mind" requests after the first-month guarantee has lapsed.

7. Outages & service credits

If the Service experiences a sustained outage that meaningfully affects your usage, we will issue a pro-rated service credit to your account on request. Service credits are not cash refunds — they extend your subscription by the equivalent value.

An outage qualifies for service credit when:

  • The Service is unavailable for more than 60 consecutive minutes;
  • The outage is on our side (not a third-party network issue between you and us);
  • Your account is in good standing at the time of the outage.

Outages are reported on our status page and via email to active accounts.

8. How to request a refund

Email hello@starsapi.com from the email address registered on your StarsAPI account. Include:

  • Your account email;
  • The charge date and amount you want refunded;
  • A brief reason — we use this feedback to improve, not to argue with you.

We will respond within 2 business days with a decision. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method and typically appear in your account within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank or card issuer.

9. Currency & bank fees

Refunds are issued in the same currency as the original charge. We do not reimburse currency-conversion losses or bank fees that may apply at your end. Where applicable taxes (GST, VAT) were charged, the refund includes those taxes.

10. Disputes

If you disagree with a refund decision, reply to the refund email and we will escalate the review. If we still cannot reach an agreement, the dispute is subject to the governing-law and jurisdiction clauses in our Terms of Service.

Filing a chargeback with your bank without first contacting us is unhelpful — chargebacks cost both sides money and we will almost always resolve the issue directly if you give us the chance.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the current version. Material changes will not be applied retroactively to charges incurred before the update.
